Keystone Assignment/ Case Study

Keystone Assignment: Case Study
Student Description

Dante Torres is one of the students in my second grade classroom that has an IEP and 504. His
F&P reading level is a Level L which is close to being at the proper reading level for a second
grader approaching the end of the year. Despite being diagnosed, Dante still strives in the class
but with limitations. On exams, Dante does well when given extra time and prompting. His
scores along range him at a Level 2-3 students. Dante is a student that doesn’t have any
behavioral issues and is extremely quiet in the classroom and puts forth effort when he can.
However the only weakness Dante has is his inability to focus. Dante usually “zones out” during
instruction and if it isn’t caught he will not pay attention for long periods of time. When it is
caught, Dante tries his best to get his work done when he can. Dante's IEP indicates that he has

trouble with the academic skill of decoding and the cognitive skill of attention. He does, however,

have strengths in vocabulary and understanding what he has read (when he is able to decode).
