Reflection Paper The reality of education now is that technology has vastly taken over.  In our increasingly digital world, we can leverage their use for instructional Research has shown that video games help in promoting learning and motivating students.  Studies show that gaming encourages students to become more engaged about their learning, and to become confident about their skills.  Games have an inherent motivational element, as they mostly contain leaderboards and built-in competition. This will eventually lead to progress in their learning. However, when selecting games to enhance instruction it is a must that you make sure that the game you are using fits with your subject’s requirements and standards, the needs of your students, and the skills they will need to develop to complete a lesson.  The key is to use games to help you plan your lessons that engage students and support learning. Ian J. Wharton June 4 th 2019 EDPC 610 Assignment #3 What is Universal Design for Learning (UDL)?  Universal Design for Learning, or UDL is a way of thinking about teaching and learning that gives all students equal opportunity to learn. It means that a teacher designs learning experiences in flexible ways to meet the needs of students in the classroom. When you choose to take a UDL approach, teachers prepare the learning environment with flexible means, methods, and materials that will allow them to better meet the needs of every student. Now the way to execute this can happen in a few ways. You can use a variety of methods for students to access material, engage with it, and show what they know. In doing so, UDL helps you meet the needs of a wide range of learners. Although UDL doesn’t specifically target students with learning and attention issues, it can be especially helpful for them if planned correctly. UDL can also be beneficial for English language lear...
